This guide will walk you through the steps to update your password in Gmail.
Step 1: Open Gmail
Open your web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) and go to mail.google.com.
Step 2: Sign In
Click on the “Sign In” button at the top right. Enter your email address and your current password, then click “Next.”
Step 3: Go to Security Settings
After signing in, click on your profile picture at the top right corner, and then select “Manage your Google Account.”
Step 4: Access Security
In your Google Account, navigate to the left sidebar and select “Security.”
Step 5: Change Password
Scroll down to the “Signing in to Google” section. Here, you’ll see “Password.” Click on the “Password” section.
Step 6: Verify Your Identity
Google will ask you to verify your identity. You will most likely need to enter your current password again.
Additionally, there could be options to verify your identity through your mobile phone, recovery email, or by answering security questions. Choose your preferred method and follow the prompts.
Step 7: Set a New Password
Once your identity is verified, you’ll be prompted to set a new password. Enter your new password, then confirm it. Click “Change Password” or “Save.”
Step 8: Success
You should see a confirmation message indicating that your password has been changed. Click “Continue” to return to your account.
